Dramatic Actress Portrait

So like, i have never EVER modelled in my life. HAHAH. But this was so fun. It was pretty much for a friends assignment check out his blog here
I was pretty awkward at first because there was light everywhere and I pretty much had to be heaps dramatic bc yeh the theme. I also had to look into the light like half the time, so i was blind half the time. But it was heaps good. I did my own makeup, which I am not fairly happy about. But it was still ok i guess because it was all about the lighting and the photography.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE BACKGROUND. AND I THINK MY BLACK AND WHITE OUTFIT DID SOME VERY GREAT CONTRASTING.

So yah enjoy :)  hopefully we get to collab some more for future blog shoots :)

UNI ASSIGNMENT

So like its been a while since I've posted. Its mostly because  haven't had time to take photos of outfits, or theres no one there to actually take one. If I can this week, I'll start recording some of my uni outfits and yeh my recent Glebe haul.

This one is a pretty random post, just a trailer to my upcoming uni assignment. I don't know why but this made me so excited because I have never edited a video before.
It was a pretty fun assignment because all I had to do was go on learning excursions and just experience random things.

So I chose to go and "experience" Glebe Markets, Drive In cinemas and the Chinese Garden at Nurragingy. (it was pretty crap, I'm thinking of going to the city one instead.) so yeh heres like a crappy preview of what I did. LOL

Glebe was heaps great. Just too bad I didn't have enough money even though everything there was already heaps cheap. But yeh I have always been a vintage lover, and so for me I went crazy. My favourite was the Miss Brown stall selling everything for $10. Miss Brown is one of Australia's top vintage brands and it was so great to see everything here for $10. Stay tuned to see what I managed to get soon :)

Oscar 2014 favourites

Cate Blanchett in Giorgio Armani
Matthew McConaughey in Dolce and Gabbana
Camila Alves in Gabriela Cadena

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen

Emma Watson in Vera Wang
Just to sum it up, I am absolutely in love with these gowns because they have that sense on simplicity yet they are still amazing. I love love love the drapery on all these outfits especially on Camila's one.
They are all just so simple yet so very elegant.

All.u.re trends and fashion inspiration

SO like I said, here are some ideas they have posted on their facebook page. Some of these were posted ages ago, but I think they are still very relevant to the trends today :)

MIDI SKIRT
Midi skirts are so classy, modest and so very comfortable. They show off your girly allure without showing too much. I think they can work on anyone and with anything.

WINTER VIBE
Like the girls have said "who said your winter wardrobe can only be full of black and grey?" This set of photos shows you how to add that pop of colour to your winter wardrobe.

FANCY TROUSERS
I think these babies are a MUST HAVE for any season. They can be both warm and cool at the same time. They go great with anything. So here are some ideas.

THE SHIFT DRESS
These dresses were so in this summer season but who said you cant work them in the winter? Just add some stockings and a nice comfy coat or oversized knit cardigans and youre good to go.

WORKING WHITE
I think that anything white, can really radiate a girl's glow and "allure". The white is so subtle yet very appealing. It is a neutral colour so you can dress it up or down.

All.u.re workshop

It's been a while since I've posted because I haven't really had much time lately due to starting uni and also because my job has been giving me a whole lot of shifts lately. But today, I just wanted to share a few things on what I learnt at our YFC sector meeting yesterday with the All.u.re girls.

Although, it wasn't my first time hearing them, it was an absolute honour to hear them again. After a year of hearing them last, I can truly say that I needed that friendly reminder to boost my confidence again.

Just a bit of background on them, the All.u.re workshop aims to help young women embrace their allure (inner and outer beauty), they also assist in helping girls to take knowledge of their value and recognize their uniqueness. They focus on teaching young women to dress in a way that will radiate this allure with respect for their body, as well as fashion as a means of their self-expression. If you want to get to know them more HERE is their facebook page :)

Yesterdays session focused on three things: the philosophy of beauty, self respect and relationships. I didn't take much notes but here are some.

Philosophy of beauty:
  • beauty is universal and taste is personal.
  • three of qualities of true beauty: radiance, harmony and completeness. A person should radiate their inner beauty through the way they dress and the way they present themselves.
  • Women today tend to be seen as objects, evident through media. Instead they should be seen as subjects and a form of God's gift.
Self-respect:
  • Self- representation: women should radiate their allure through the way they present themselves.
  • Ridicule vs respect: most women today, use their allure for gaining attention rather than self- respect. If a women learns to respect themselves, others will too.
  • Confidence vs insecurity: to make themselves feel better, women tend to judge and compare themselves with others. As a woman we should learn to care and not compare.
Relationships:
  • "If you are your authentic self, you have no competition."
  • create beauty with your attitude, behavior and your actions."
I encourage you to take a look at their facebook page as well as their instagram @all.u.re_workshop for some GREAT fashion inspiration and just some daily reminders.

I will be posting some fashion inspiration they have posted so stay tuned :)
